Terms and Conditions for Childcare Services

1. Reservation and Payment

1.1. Once the final confirmation has been sent and your nanny is assigned, you are responsible for all hours booked. You are unable to shorten any hours. In the event that you need to cancel, you are allowed to cancel up to 2 sessions at no charge. Any further cancelations beyond 2,  will be charged in full.

1.2. Each session is considered a separate booking.

1.3. Any bookings made in less than 24hrs will incur a one-time $40 late fee. 

2. Additional Fees

2.1. An additional fee of $6 per hour will be charged for each additional child.

2.2. An additional fee of $6 per hour will be charged for hours exceeding an 8-hour continuous period.

2.3. An additional fee of $6 per hour will be charged for services provided between the hours of 12:00 AM and 8:00 AM.

2.4. An additional $20 travel fee will be assessed for breaks exceeding 1 hour between sessions.

2.5 Any reservation of 5 days or longer will require a signature, and form must be signed and returned within 24hrs, to guarantee a nanny(s).

3. Cancellation Policy
3.1 Cancellations with 24 Hours’ Notice: Guests may cancel up to 2 requested sessions without charge, provided the agency receives more than 24 hours' notice. Any additional cancellations will incur a charge for all hours booked for all additional sessions.

3.2 Cancellations with Less Than 24 Hours’ Notice: For cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, a minimum charge of 4 hours at the confirmed hourly rate will apply to the first 2 canceled sessions. Any further cancellations will require payment for all remaining hours booked.


3.3. Cancellations with Less Than One Hour’s Notice: A travel fee will be assessed in addition to the charges stated above.

4. Change Policy

4.1. If a guest wants to change the scheduled times and the nanny is available, the guest will still be responsible for paying for all original booked hours. For example, if the nanny was scheduled for 6 hours from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and the guest wants to switch to 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the guest must pay for the original 6 hours, even though the nanny only worked for 4 hours.

4.2. Two or more changes to the original request once confirmed may invalidate the assigned nanny.

5. Holiday Rates

5.1. Time and a Half Holidays: Valentine's Day, Easter Day, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.

5.2. Double Rate Holidays: Thanksgiving (from 6:00 AM on Thanksgiving Day through 6:00 AM the following day), Christmas Eve & Christmas Day (from 6:00 AM on December 24th through 6:00 AM on December 26th), and New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day (from 6:00 AM on December 31st through 6:00 AM on January 2nd). Special holiday guidelines apply; please refer to Festive Guidelines.

5.3. Thanksgiving Day Cancellation: If a Thanksgiving Day request is cancelled with less than 3 days’ notice, the total amount of hours requested will be charged at the double rate.

5.4. Holiday Cancellation (12/24, 12/25, 12/31 & 1/1): Bookings for the Christmas/New Year’s Holiday cancelled after December 9th will be charged in full for all hours booked, at the Holiday Double Rate, even with 24 hours' notice. These bookings cannot be cancelled after December 9th.

6. Health and Safety Policies

6.1. Please follow all health protocols. Masks are optional. If a nanny, guest, or any children develop a fever or cold symptoms, please inform the agency to assess the situation.

7. Illness Cancellation Guidelines

7.1. For communicable diseases such as COVID-19, RSV, Flu, and any sickness etc., all confirmed requests must submit a physician’s note or official PCR test documenting the positive case within 48hrs of notice to the agency. Requests will be cancelled with no charge for up to 2 days. If no note is provided within the 48hr time frame, guest will be responsible for all remaining hours.

9. Policy Updates
9.1 Right to Modify: MKC reserves the right to amend or modify these Terms and Conditions, as well as any other policies or procedures, at any time without prior notice.

9.2 Effective Date: Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website or communication through other agreed methods.

9.3 Continued Use: By continuing to use our services after any modifications are made, guests agree to abide by the updated terms and policies.

10. Disclaimer for Specific Nanny Requests

10.1 Impact of Short-Notice Cancellations: By requesting a specific nanny, clients acknowledge that reserving a nanny's time can lead to missed opportunities for other bookings. Cancellations made with less than 5 days notice will incur an additional fee to compensate for the potential loss of income and inconvenience caused to the nanny.

10.2 Additional Fee Notification: The additional fee, if applicable, will be communicated at the time of cancellation and will be based on the impact on the nanny’s schedule. This fee is intended to partially offset the financial impact on the nanny and encourage timely cancellations.

10.3 Emergencies and Exceptions: Emergencies do not constitute an automatic waiving of fees. Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, as determined by MKC.
