Illness Policy

*  Malihini Keiki Care reserves the right to change rates and policies when we deem necessary.  Guests will be notified of changes before the effect of a new policy or rate. 

RATES

bASE rATE: (4 hour minimum)

$30/hour for one child with a 4-Hour Minimum​.

$6 per hour for each additional child

$20 Travel Fee for each assignment

Additional Fees:

*Please Note: Gratuities are not included & credit card information obtained at the time of reservation is used for confirmation and cancellation purposes only.  Guests pay nannies directly.

$6 per hour between midnight and 8 AM.

$6 per hour for any hours that exceed an 8 hour period.

$40 fee for requests with less than 24  hours’ notice .

BACK

An additional $20 travel fee will be charged for breaks exceeding 1 hour between assignments. 

CANCELATION POLICY

  • Cancellations with 24 hours’ notice: Guest may cancel 2 of their requested sessions without charges, provided the agency receives more than 24 hours' notice. Further cancellations incur a 4 hour minimum charge at the confirmed rate.

  • Cancellations with LESS than 24 hours’ notice: 4 hour minimum at the confirmed hourly rate will be assessed for the first 2 cancelled sessions. Any further cancellations will be the responsibility of the guest to pay for ALL remaining hours booked.

  • Cancellations with less than one hour notice:  travel fee assessed in addition to above  

  • Requests of four days or longer that are cancelled with less than five days’ notice: A $200 fee is assessed.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

1.

Nannies will not bring your children into the open ocean unless the parent or guardian is in the water with the child and nanny. 

 

2.

Nannies are not permitted to bring your child off property, or in their personal vehicle. If you would like to leave property with your nanny, it is recommended the nanny may take their own vehicle separately and meet you at the designated area. (Nannies are able to drive golf-carts on property.)
 

3.

Parents are required to give their contact information to the nanny in case of emergencies. In the event of an emergency where the parent cannot be contacted, the nanny will contact emergency services.

  • Thanksgiving (6am to 6am following day): Thanksgiving Cancellation Policy: If Thanksgiving Day requests are canceled with less than 3 days’ notice, the total amount of hours requested will be charged at the double rate.
Festive guidelines apply from December 10th to January 5th, 2025
  • Scheduled nanny hours confirmed for the dates of December 10 – January 5 will be billed at the full rate stated on the confirmation letter. The following dates and times are considered holiday hours and will be billed double rates: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (6:00 a.m. Saturday, December 24 to 6:00 a.m. Monday, December 26), New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day (6:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31 to 6:00 a.m. Monday, January 2). 
  • Holiday requests can only be cancelled until 12/9/24. After this date they will be billed in full if not used.
  • Non-holiday cancellations for any dates/hours reserved require 24-hours’ notice. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled start time will result in a FULL cancellation fee in the number of the reserved hours at the confirmed hourly rate. Guests are allowed 2 cancellations with 24 hours’ notice during Festive, any more than two cancellations will be billed at FULL rate regardless of 24-hours’ notification. Malihini Keiki Care reserves the right to substitute nannies as needed in the event of a schedule conflict or illness beyond the control of Malihini Keiki Care.

NANNIES

NANNIES ARE not employees, subcontractors, or agents of MKC. MKC makes no warranties, written implied, regarding the nature and the quality of the provided child care and accept no liability for the service rendered by providers including, but not limited to, any negligent acts by the providers resulting in injury to children under their care or damage to the property of the children, parents, hotel or resort.

When hiring nannies, we ensure they meet the following qualifications:
  • Infant & Child First Aid & CPR
  • Criminal clearance
  • Medical and TB clearance
  • Drug tested
  • Previous childcare experience
  • Written references
  • Have attended required training
  • They will have MKC picture identification and be committed to giving you service with Aloha!

Illnesses


Due to the large number of guests cancelling their requests because they have contracted one of the above , we have had to impose the following guidelines.

All requests that have been confirmed with a nanny must submit a Physicians note or official PCR test documenting the person who has tested positive on the reservation. We will then cancel with no charge for requests up to 3 days.

Requests of 4 days or longer will incur a $200 cancellation fee as the nanny has set aside a long period of time to accommodate the guest and much staff time has been dedicated to set up a longer request. Thank you for your understanding.
